Easter 2011

Our Easter dinner was absolutely wonderful, but there was a few times that we all said, "Maybe we should have gone out for dinner".

I did the frozen bread dough this morning, and I did the quick way where you heat the oven to 200 degrees, when heated turn it off, put the bread dough in with boiling water. Anyway it was ready to bake by 11:30 am and I knew it would be out of the oven by the time everything else had to go in.

Lynn and Doug came and they put together the scalloped corn. I did the green bean casserole. Lynn and I started on the Augraaten potatoes. I put some water on the stove to boil. All of a sudden I noticed smoke. I had turned the wrong burner on for the water, and one of the loaves of bread had started on fire. Jerry told Lynn that he likes it that way.

Well, we did get the potatoes in the oven along with the ham. We set the table and each of us got to hold our little Levi.

When Doug and I went to check on the food in the oven and put the onion rings on the green beans, I spilled a few of them. The next time I opened the oven, the few that I had spilled were burning and we set the fire alarms off. Boy, are they ever loud.

Our dinner turned out very well and Levi was the VIP!!

What a fiasco!! I'm sure it all turned out good. Isn't that just like Jerry saying that he likes burnt bread. Anyway, the important thing was that you were surrounded by your family.
