Another fun trip!

John Wilkes Booth with Linda and Pat
We had such a wonderful time. Left Aunt Liz's on Friday at 8:30 am. She has a brand new van and it is really great. We made it to Osseo, Wisconsin where we decided to stop for a restroom break. Needless to say we visited a neat garden center and some of us had an early lunch, some of us had breakfast.
Once on the road again, we made some good time. The traffic going south wasn't too bad. We got to our hotel in Lincoln, Illinois about 5:30 pm. Checked into our rooms and then went out touring in Lincoln and had dinner at a Cracker Barrel restaurant.
Sat. morning we had a great breakfast at hotel and left for Springfield, Illinois. Found the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum where we met our cousin Linda from Chicago. It was an awesome place. It made me feel as though I were walking through Abraham Lincoln's life with him. There were many places that were very emotional. We ate lunch at the museum and after we all had finished there we went back to the van and went out to the Cemetery where the tomb of Lincoln is located. It had started to rain and the gates to go inside the tomb had closed. It was a gorgeous cemetery. We went back to Lincoln and had dinner at Culver's.
On Sunday, after another great breakfast at hotel, we left for New Salem. We traveled on a very narrow road with corn fields very, very high. This is a village where Abraham Lincoln lived and worked as a young man. It was really unique as quite a few of the log building were open to go inside and a couple of them had people actually working on things. It was a beautiful sunny day.
We took Linda back to her car as she left for Chicago and we headed off towards home. We stopped for the night just south of Rochelle, Illinios.
Just after crossing the St Croix river, we took the road through Stillwater to get back to Willernie.
Thank you once again, to everyone, for the memories of our travels together.
It was a fun trip with my sister, my aunt, my cousin('s), and a new friend. The new van is very nice to drive.

It was a great trip - lots of fun - some education - and traveling down memory lane.
