On Thursday evening, Sept. 24th, the red hat group that I belong to made dinner and served it and cleaned up after for the Hope Lodge here in Rochester. The Hope Lodge is a beautiful home for cancer patients to have a place to stay while having treatments and appointments. It is about three blocks from the Mayo Clinic, so it is also very accomodating for them.
We have 23 members of the red hat group. We each signed up to make two items from a menu, and if we couldn't do that we were asked to give $15. Our menu consisted of:
White Chili (made with Chicken)
Sour Cream, Shredded Cheese, Frito's
Pickles
Lime Jello Salad
Layered Lettuce Salad
Bars of our choice
The Great Harvest Bread Company donated the bread
It was a very rewarding night. These are a really special group of ladies that I am so thankful to be a part of.
