Branson - Sept 2010

Another fun time with family and friends. On friday, Sept 3rd I drove over to Austin and met Donna Mae De For at her house. David drove us to Albert Lea truck stop where we met my sister Donna Jean De For, my cousin Pat and my Aunt Liz.

We all used the restroom and put our luggage in the van and took off for Branson, MO. We made a stop at a rest area, then we stopped for lunch in Ames, Iowa. For some reason we have almost always had trouble getting thru Kansas City and this time we almost ended up in Kansas. With the help of a clerk at a gas station we got on track. We stopped in a little town where we have stopped before for dinner. It was already around 8:30 pm. Finally we were at the Mitchell's home around 11:30 pm.

On Saturday afternoon, we went to the show "Noah, the Musical". It was just fabulously incredible. Can't even begin to explain how real it was. We had excellent seats, and low and behold I saw one of my Red hat ladies at the same show. After that we had Pizza and then we went to another show, the Haygoods. This is a family of seven brothers and one sister. They did such a great variety of songs and such high energy. Really enjoyed them.

On Sunday morning we went to church and then back to the Mitchell's for a wonderful dinner. Lil had put a roast in the oven early morning, we had Sweet Corn, salad & for dessert we had a Blackberry Cobbler. Lil's sister Mary came and so did her daughter Jamie.

Pat, both Donna's and I went to Old Branson to a "5 and 10 cent store" in the afternoon.
Another stop at a Mall and then to Lowe's. It got a little warm on Sunday afternoon.

We ate a lite supper and then enjoyed the view and sang a little and watched a beautiful sunset, followed by at least 20 minutes of fire works across the lake.

Left for home on Monday.
