Day # 3 Leaving Donna and boarding the ship

Our room #317 on the Celebrity Summit - Our Stateroom attendant's name was Elvis

Our cruise director, Bob Retzloff
The first view of our ship
Leaving New York City and heading toward Cape Liberty Port in Bayonne, NJ
Donna called our hotel room at 6 AM to tell us that she wouldn't be able to go on the cruise, but insisted that Pat and I still go. So we had to get busy and figure out how to get our checked bag where it needed to be for getting to the ship and get Donna's bags to the hospital. After checking with the cruise organizer we got it done. Our bags were picked up for the ship at 8 AM and then we got a cab with Donna's luggage and headed for the hospital. The bus to take us to the ship was willing to come to the hospital and get Pat and I on the way to the Crown Plaza Times Square to get the rest of our group. I do have to say it was VERY, VERY HARD TO LEAVE HER IN NEW YORK CITY ALONE. Hans had talked to her and said he would drive up if she had to stay.
The view of New York City on the way to the ship was gorgeous. We went thru China town and past the Brooklin Bridge. Then checked into a large building, through customs and bused out to the ship. After going thru the safety semminar, we went to the open deck on the 10th floor and watched as the ship sailed out to sea. As the beautiful sun was setting, we went under a beautiful bridge and my cousin Linda called from Chicago. We also got our first taste of the Celebrity theater entertainment. It was absolutely wonderful.
